Be the change you wish to see in the world

I was inspired to write this blog after channeling the November 2020 message from the Akashic Records that went out to my newsletter community. In that message, the Records talked about showing up in the world as the change we most want to see right now. For instance, when we look at the world in its current state and wish that we saw more of x,y,z instead of a,b,c,  how can we start to embody the change and shift we wish to see more of on the collective level?

Here's an excerpt from the channeled November message from the Akashic Records  -

"We ask that you hold the vision for the future you most want to see, the future you most desire. A future with love, unity, equity, understanding, and compassion for one another rather than division, violence, fear.

Are you embodying the change that you want to see? Are you able to? Are you able to step into that energy even for a few minutes a day, and show up as the change that you wish to see in the world?

If you can, we thank you. And if not yet, we understand. But we hope that you can get to a place where you're able to, because that is in service of all, and in service of the collective.

Come home to yourself as the change that you wish to see in the world. And in doing so, you show up as your fully embodied, most aligned self. The self that you have may have been afraid to fully see before, that you may have been afraid to let others fully see before. And we understand there's a deep fear in the collective around being seen for who you truly are, for who you came here to be, for what you came here to do.

But now is the time to step out of the shadows and into the light of you. Your most authentic self."

So I can't just channel that message, receive it as a message intended for myself as much as anyone else, and go about my ignoring that profound energy. In fact, for much of this year as the world turned upside down, I've been thinking more and more about how I can be the change I wish to see in the world right now

To me, that means we can't keep showing up in the same (albeit, often comfortable) ways and expect a change in our social structures and the way we fundamentally relate to each other. It's taking some time, sure, but we are watching old systems falling all around us…and I truly believe there are better days ahead for all of us, instead of some, on the other side of that.

When I started Akashic Healing Sessions earlier this year, it coincided with the BLM protests gaining momentum in the US and globally. As an expat living abroad, I wished I could do more to support the BIPOC community in the US. More than donating to social and racial justice organizations, more than putting my consumer dollars into black-owned businesses, like bookshops, since I couldn’t be at the protests at home.

There were lots of people feeling the same way it turns out. I ended up connecting with an incredible healer (Pea the Ferry ) who was asking folks, and in particular white healers and wellness practitioners, to donate healing sessions to the BIPOC community if they were willing and able to. I was just starting my business at the same time and saw the opportunity to provide free sessions, or love offerings as I like to call them, to the BIPOC community as my way of finally feeling like I was doing something with my gifts to acknowledge and support all the trauma I saw occurring in the media day after day.

Through the dozens of love offerings I did over the next few months, I was so honored and grateful to connect and heal with incredible folks and so many healers in the community. In my work, I'm lucky because I get to experience each client as the most radiant, beloved soul that they are at their core. I get to help people connect to their ancestors, their lineages perhaps long unknown or forgotten by living relatives. I help folks connect back to their soul's blueprint for this lifetime, remembering what they came here to learn and how their soul wishes to grow through experience after experience.

While I'm not able to make that blanket offer to the BIPOC community any longer, I want to thank each client that booked a love offering with me. You helped me grow and expand and heal in my work and personally in ways that I never could've imagined. You were my teachers, guides, expanders, my inspiration - and a huge reason why I continue to do this work. Thank you for trusting me to help guide you back to a greater connection to your soul, your reason for being here, your healer within, and your magnificent power within.

Now, I'm offering QTBIPOC scholarship sessions and hope to work with 1-2 folks a month in readings and healings. The new scholarships sessions incorporate deeper inclusivity for queer and trans folks that I didn't specifically hold space for in my previous offering - and for that I'm sorry. If you are queer or trans, I want to work with you, too! I'd be honored to hold space for you through a scholarship session if you're interested.

I'm sharing this because firstly, I want people to know about the new offer available. And secondly, I'd like this to serve as an invitation, especially to the fellow healers and wellness practitioners out there, to start thinking about and incorporating into your work and business (if you haven't already) how you're going to be the change you want to see in the worldTo really invite you to sit with what that truly means for you personally and in your business. I don't believe we'll reach that change if we keep doing things the same way as those who have come before us.

Maybe for you, that change is through scholarship offerings with the recognition that without them, some of us are knowingly or unknowingly pricing out communities from accessing the vital healing and support we offer, especially marginalized communities living with systematic socioeconomic disadvantages?

Is that through expanding opportunities for free content and resources on your platforms? (And yes, I believe we can do this while still holding our worth and being abundant - these notions don't have to exist as a dichotomy.)

Maybe it's something different, too, and that's great.

The change I want to incorporate more and more in my business is being a more inclusive, safe space for anyone no matter what their experience. A space without personal judgment, a comforting spiritual container to hold and support people through barring their souls as they seek guidance and confirmations in moving into the energy of their purpose (which can manifest in many, many ways, not just one career…but that's for a different day and a different blog post…). The healing and connection I feel working with each client is profound - and yet profound seems like too small of a word to describe the true feeling - and it's my intention to honor that sacred space in every session booked with me.

I'm a work in progress, but I'm actively and intentionally stepping into the change I most desire to see in the world.

I am the change I want to see in the world. I am the love I wish to see more of in the world. The connection. And so much more.

What about you? How are you showing up as the change you most want to see in the world, love? How can you get creative and innovative to reflect that change in your business as well?
